We simply couldn’t be more thankful for the quick, professional, and kind service we received from ROSS SEPTIC SERVICE. On a Wednesday afternoon, a contractor doing some work at our home accidentally drove his truck and trailer over a portion of our septic system. He was very apologetic about the accident, but my wife and I were—as you might imagine—quite concerned that we might experience problems. We called ROSS SEPTIC SERVICE the very next morning and left a voice mail message. Mr. Ross called just a short while later, explained that if it was any sort of emergency, he’d head over after finishing the other job he was working on. I said I wasn’t sure if there was any sort of emergency because although I couldn’t see any obvious damage above ground, the stuff I was worried about was all underground. After patiently walking me through some warning signs to look for, he said it didn’t sound like an emergency, so he’d come over first thing the following morning—which he did. I had a conflicting engagement, so I wasn’t able to be here when he came to our home, but he spent over an hour inspecting various items—and even cleaned out a filter. Afterwards, he explained that although certain components appeared old and would likely need to be changed at some point over the next few years, the condition of the system didn’t justify spending any additional money right now on anything that—although old—was still functioning properly. After packing up his gear and heading back to his truck, my wife asked what we owed him. To her (and my) astonishment, he said “Nothing. This was pretty routine. If you need work in the future, I’d be grateful if you’d keep me in mind.” There’s so much about this experience that was incredible. We knew nothing about septic systems, which was pretty obvious from my first panicked call to his office, so it would have been relatively easy for a less honorable person to generate a tidy profit based on our inexperience and anxiety. This gentleman did just the opposite, calming our concerns and assuring us he’d be back if we had any trouble. This sort of “business ethic” seems almost non-existent these days. Needless to say, his business card is on “if we need help” cork board, and his phone number is in each of our mobile devices! If we were to summarize Tyler in one word, that word would be integrity.Background information: In 2020, I purchased my first home in the Pitt County area. While I was wise enough to arrange for a septic inspection, I unfortunately relied on my realtor's recommendation for an inspector. It is alarming to discover that the septic report I paid $800 for provided a completely clean assessment, only to realize less than four years later that the information I was given was, at best, overly positive and, at worst, entirely incorrect.. To put it simply, my septic tank is currently being held together by hopes & dreams.Fast forward four years and I began to sense that something wasn’t right. After Googling a septic company to take a look, I landed on Ross Septic. I submitted a “contact me” on a Friday evening and I received a call from Tyler less than an hour later! We spoke for approximately 30 minutes on the phone, discussing the situation, and he committed to visiting on that Sunday. On the day of the appointment, he sent a text to confirm and another text to provide an estimated time of arrival. To my pleasant surprise, he arrived within just 30 minutes, which was remarkable considering that many other companies provide vague 8-hour windows for their arrival times.Tyler arrived on schedule, displaying politeness, professionalism, and great kindness. In less than 35 seconds, he lifted the lid of the septic tank and immediately identified the type of tank, its approximate age, the soil type in our backyard, and the duct tape & glitter manner in which it had been put together by previous "professionals." My knowledge of septic systems is taking a public health course in college & knowing what a drainage field is….. so Tyler took the time to explain how the system should ideally function, how it is currently operating, and the options available to us. At no point did Tyler attempt to sell us anything, nor did he rely on flashy iPad presentations with diagrams and charts. He simply communicated with us as human beings whom he genuinely wanted to assist.It is evident that Tyler possesses a deep passion for his work and he has a very charismatic personality. As long as we live in North Carolina, we will never contact anyone other than Tyler for our septic needs.Basically, if you hire anyone other than Tyler, you’re doing your family and home a disservice.

Needed help with a clogged sewer pipe. Ross Septic came out the morning I called them and fixed my issue. Great company Tyler was very helpful and we will have him back soon to improve our piping situation.
